Fiction Tie – The Writing Software
For many people the idea of writing a fiction Thai novel is new and exciting. Thai writing is much more demanding than writing in other genres, but writing in any language can be rewarding. When I began to write a story in Thai, I was surprised by how much effort went into the writing process. Many times I found myself re-writing sections, cutting scenes, and altering the plot turns to create a plotline that worked. However, once I began to get used to writing in Thai, the story flow and plot developed naturally.
The biggest challenge for me when I began writing my first story in Thai was keeping myself on track. Writing in a foreign language is a huge task. In fact, it can be very frustrating if you keep straying from your story line. This is where having a deadline can really help. By setting a deadline for yourself, you will be able to stay focused and not worry about writing on the spur of the moment.
Another key to getting started with writing in Thai was to know some basic Thai. I found it helpful to enroll in a writing class in Thailand or borrow some textbooks on the topic. Learning the basics of writing in Thai gave me a big boost of confidence as I prepared to write my first story.
While writing in Thai was challenging at first, I realized that it was not a problem. It is actually very easy to write in the language. It took me less than a week to begin learning it. As I started writing, I realized that the characters in the story were real people with their own problems. The storyline flowed easily and before I knew it I was immersed in the story.
I did have one trouble early on. I wrote a character’s name hundreds of times in the first draft. I didn’t have the book copy so I couldn’t check it to see how it looked. However, the first mistake I made was using the first person pronouns such as “I” and “you.” This mistake cost me several drafts and I never got around to finishing the story.
In hindsight, I realized that I didn’t want the readers to be able to tell who was talking. I decided to write each dialogue with a single word. I still used the second person but only used “You” or “My” when referring to the person speaking. This made the story much more readable and made it easier to identify the characters within the story.
After learning these tips I began to relax and try to relax as well. The more relaxed I became the better I could do with the writing. You can relax while writing and focus more on your story. This will make the story flow much better and give you a greater sense of satisfaction.
