Fiction Thai is a fictional book series that began in Thailand and has now spread all over the world. It tells the story of an ordinary man, Phu Zita, who finds himself in trouble in a foreign land where he must overcome his disability and struggles to adapt. The main character is a former Royal Thai Police Officer who was disabled by a road accident. This story takes place in the year 2021 and covers some current events in Thailand, especially Thailand’s elections and the turbulence in the Thai economy at that time.
I LOVED THIS HILDRESS, written by Lucy Costa-Brown. This is the twenty-first book of the I Love Lucy Costa series. I LOVED THIS HILDRESS is another masterpiece and I can not wait to read the next one.
The second novel in the I Love Lucy Costa series, BREATHE DEATH, picks up immediately where the first novel, LOVE IT OR LEFT NOT, left off. In this novel, we travel to Cambodia, where Princess Irina has been disappeared. John, a British soldier, and his friendnic soprana, arrive at the scene only to find a mass of bodies – mostly dead – and an enormous pile of treasure that has been buried alive. The whole scene is very graphic and disturbing, especially for a book written in an English language.
This is the third novel in the I Love Lucy Costa series. This time, we follow John and Lucy as they travel to Vietnam. John is still missing the Princess. The two friends get separated while traveling and John starts to think that he may be next. Soon, though, he discovers the body of a young girl who was also with them, and who has been accidentally killed by the car they were travelling in. The investigation leads them to the prison where the Princess is being held.
This is the fourth novel in the I Love Lucy Costa series. This time, we follow Grace. Grace is a shy, lonely girl from a poor family who has recently lost her mother and younger sister to the dreaded yellow crime. She has been studying at a new school run by an American teacher and is very attached to her studies. She has also developed a crush on a boy called Alex, but he is secretly dating another girl, called Jill.
What follows is a series of events that leaves Grace deeply distressed. The American teacher is murdered, supposedly by the Mafia, while her assistant, Jill, is believed to have been likewise killed. John and Grace then become roommates. The murder mystery that follows almost resembles a movie script with multiple suspects and a series of clues leading the detectives through a complex case.
The fifth novel in the I Love Lucy Costa series, The Woman Who Loved Him Back, tells the story of Grace and John’s relationship and the circumstances surrounding their eventual reconciliation. It concentrates on their decision to reunite with their ex-boyfriends. The story is told from the point of view of both girls and involves some heavy moralizing about the exploitation of women and corruption in Thai society. A livewire story full of romance, passion and sarcasm is combined with excellent character development and logical twists.
The Story of a Woman Who Was Married Before This World, by Leanne Wier, is the sixth in the series and also the first wholly original installment in the saga. In The Story of a Woman Who Was Married Before This World, Grace goes back to Thailand after her marriage to discover that her good friend has died in prison and is being haunted by the ghost of her previous husband. There she finds it painful to accept the fact that she has to leave her much loved country. While in Bangkok, she meets the beautiful Nang Yai, whom she has fallen in love with. They are captured by terrorists and taken to a secret facility where they are tortured and Nang tries to kill Grace but she is saved by the American officer who is desperately trying to save them. The novel is an emotional and thrilling end to the story of Grace and Nang Yai.
